There were two main Grand Prixe categories: 'Young Crew' and 'Adult'.
Topping the Young Crew category was 18-year-old Marcus Valeur from Norway with his awe-inspiring 'Trying to gain height': a panning of a sea eagle trying to gain height after catching a fish. Marcus took the photo from boat with a shutter speed of 1/25 sec.
“This was the very last image in a series of more than 25 pictures. None of the images had sufficient sharpness in the head region – except this,” explained Marcus.
Coming out top in the 'Adult' category was Janne Heimonen from Finland, with 'JUMP!': an atmosphering shot of a dipper diving for food from a stream, in the last sunbeams of sunset.
