With more than 10,000 pictures submitted since it took off in December 2008, the Wild Wonders of Europe Online Photo Competition now sees two final months to go. In December the winners of the Grand Prize will be selected by a world class jury consisting of top photographers, editors and photo marketing experts.

An exclusive photo mission to Alladale estate, Scotland!

Paul Lister, a straightforward conservationist, will open the gates to his huge private estate, Alladale, in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The Grand Prize winners, one from the adult category and another from our younger entrants, will spend some memorable winter days at Alladale and in Cairngorms National Park with great opportunities to photograph red deer and other highland wildlife. Peter Cairns, Wild Wonders of Europe Financial Director and one of the project’s photographers, will provide personal guidance and heaps of PRO tips in the field.

Furthermore, the Grand Prize will include top-notch photo hardware from leading brands. Pictures taken during the mission will be put on display in various Wild Wonders of Europe media outlets. They will be seen by millions of people in Europe and the World.

From this reservoir of images will emerge in spring 2010 the flagship Great Wild Show Outdoor Exhibition. Serving as inspiration for millions as it tours throughout Europe over the next 3 years, it will showcase the very best of Europe’s wildlife and wild places, through the emotional impact of beautiful photography. The story that will be revealed is a positive one focusing on the comeback species, the re-wilding of landscapes and the conservation successes out there in Europe’s wilderness over the past three decades. It will also highlight the landscapes and species that are in need of protection.

Next year, the International Year of Biodiversity, is a milestone for conservation and the Wild Wonders of Europe series of Great Wild Show Outdoor Exhibitions have specifically been timed to coincide, launching in April, 2010.
